The announcement came at San Diego Comic-Con from Marvel that "Thor: Love and Thunder" set to be out Nov. 5, 2021, according to multiple reports.

The actress who graduated from Syosset High School in 1999 responded, on Instagram in this post,  "So thrilled to share the news with you today at #sdcc2019 that I’ll be returning to the @marvel #mcu as female Thor with legends @taikawaititi @tessamaethompson and @chrishemsworth."

"Remember this as the before picture for when I get jacked," continues the post with a picture of the actress holding Thor's enchanted hammer on stage at the convention.

Natalie Portman is an actress, producer, writer, and director with dual Israeli and American citizenship. She is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. 

Portman was born in Israel in 1981 and her family moved to the United States in 1984. Portman and her family first lived in Washington, D.C., but relocated to Connecticut in 1988 and then moved to Jerich in 1990.

 While living in the Washington, D.C., area, Portman attended Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland.

Portman learned to speak Hebrew while living on Long Island and attended a Jewish elementary school, the Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County in Jericho.

She graduated from Syosset High School in Syosset in 1999.[

She studied ballet and modern dance at the American Theater Dance Workshop in New Hyde Park and attended the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts in Wheatley Heights, both on Long Island.
